When does GTA 6 come out?

What time does GTA 6 unlock?
Rockstar has given a date, not a clock time. Some guides expect midnight in your store region, but that is not confirmed. We will update this answer as soon as Rockstar does.
When was GTA 6 announced?

How much does GTA 6 cost?
In the US, the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99. The price is the same on PS5 and Xbox. Local store prices can differ by country.
How do I pre-order GTA 6?
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, and at retailers. Buy either edition digitally before November 20, 2026 to get the Vintage Vice City Pack and a month of GTA+. Compare the editions.
Does the physical copy include a disc?
No. The boxed version of both editions contains a download code instead of a disc. You redeem the code and download the game, which also allows preload.
What is the difference between Standard and Ultimate?
Both contain the full game. Ultimate adds vehicles, weapons, outfits, five shops, and two pieces of side content spread through the story. It gives no gameplay advantage. Standard or Ultimate?

What platforms is GTA 6 on?
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those are the only platforms Rockstar has announced for November 19, 2026.
Can you play GTA 6 on PS4 or Xbox One?
No. GTA 6 is only announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Not at launch. Rockstar has not announced a PC version. A GamesBeat report from October 2026 points to early 2027, but that is unconfirmed. PC status.
What frame rate does GTA 6 run at?
30 frames per second on both consoles at launch. A performance mode has not been announced. More on the frame rate.

Where is GTA 6 set?
In the fictional state of Leonida, Rockstar's version of Florida. The main city is Vice City, based on Miami, with five more regions around it. See the map.
How big is the GTA 6 map?
Rockstar has not published an official size. According to The New York Times, Rockstar says Vice City alone is about twice the size of Los Santos, and the world is about three times the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Who are the main characters?
You play as Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, and you can switch between them. Meet the full cast.
Who plays Jason in GTA 6?
Rockstar has not confirmed the voice actors for Jason or Lucia. Names circulate online, but none are official. The one cast member widely reported is Stephen Root, linked to Brian Heder.
How long is GTA 6?
There is no official length. The New York Times reported that producer Rob Nelson's playthrough took about 80 hours, covering the main story and optional goals.
Online and extras
Does GTA 6 have online multiplayer?
Not at launch. Rockstar calls GTA 6 a single-player experience. Nothing has been announced about an online mode yet. Single-player details.
Does GTA 6 have microtransactions?
Not at launch, according to Rockstar. The studio also said no generative AI was used to make the game.
Who makes the music for GTA 6?
French duo Justice wrote the original score, out on December 11, 2026. GTA VI: The Album, with 34 original songs, comes out with the game. The in-game radio stations play licensed music.
Development
How long has GTA 6 been in development?
Preliminary work started in 2014 after GTA V. Early development began in late 2018, and full production in 2020. That makes roughly six years of full production by launch.
How much did GTA 6 cost to make?
There is no official figure. Analyst estimates of one to two billion dollars circulate, but they are unverified. Rockstar has denied rumors of more than $1.5 billion without giving its own number.
